Burned

Who is that dude behind the camera?

Back in1985, when I was an incoming freshman at Beloit College, I had the fortune that, as a result of a housing shortage, of being placed into one of the empty rooms in the Psi Kappa Psi fraternity house. I never would have thought that was a good thing at the time but, as it turns out, it was probably one of the best things that has happened to me (though definately behind meeting my wife). I pledged Phi Psi that sememster and have been a proud and greatfull member of the fraternity since.

One of the things that keeps the memories fresh and many of us connected is an event that began in my Junior year, the Birthday Bash. It began as six brothers, realizing that their birthdays were within the same two week period. This of course, not that we couldn't come up with other reasons, meant that we had to celebrate. We drove to Milwaukie, started at Watter Street for dinner and then started, what we going to be an anual pub crawl that is still going strong.

I have absolutely no idea how many people have come and gone and come back to the bashes. However, there have been only two that I know of who have been at EVERY bash; Brian and Chuck. Brian has been the one to coordinate and get everyone together and held the tradition going for over twenty years. Part of the tradition has come to be stopping for a quick drink and checking out how the progress is comming on the Jeep. I'm not sure what next year will hold, now that it is done (at least, I assume that it is done). Can't wait for next year to find out.
